Mere days after it dropped, Wednesday season one was the talk of the town. It wasn’t hard to see why. Of all the Addams family members, the youngest daughter, Wednesday, was perhaps the most intriguing. She’s dark and a bit twisted, but she’s also hilarious (albeit not always intentionally) and smart. Sign us up, we said—and Netflix listened.
The first season of the series shot straight to the top of the most-watched list, with memes and comparisons popping up left, right and centre. The series’ star, Jenna Ortega, seamlessly pulled off the lead character, while her predecessor Christina Ricci, who starred as Wednesday Addams in the 1991 film, The Addams Family, also made a surprise cameo.
Fans were understandably quick to demand a season two. Now, finally, we know when it will reach our screens—and the new faces set to join the cast. Below, everything we know about it so far.
Watch The First Six Minutes Of Wednesday Season 2
At Netflix’s Tudum 2025: The Live Event on May 31, the first six minutes of the new season was released, to give us a taster of what’s to come in the upcoming season. In a flashback sequence, we see Wednesday traumatising her classmates with the chilling details of the Kansas City Scalper, America’s most elusive serial killer. It’s a case that she’s been obsessed with since childhood, and in this season, she harnesses her newfound psychic powers to apprehend the criminal. I guess that’s one way to spend a summer break.
Wednesday Season 2 Trailer
For those wondering if and when we would get a second season of Wednesday, we can now confirm the series is set to return to Netflix in 2025. The cast and crew are currently still filming in Ireland—but, fortunately, we already have a trailer to devour!
However, the world of the Addams family may look a little different, with some exciting new cast members coming on board, and one key role being cut.
What Will Happen In Season 2?
The end of season one left us with plenty of unanswered questions (which suggests a second season is coming in hot). Expect the new instalment to reveal who Wednesday’s stalker is, as well as what the heck happened to Tyler, who was revealed to be The Hyde at the end of season one. As it happens, Hunter Doohan who plays Tyler has his own theory about the latter.
“I do think he escaped at the end. When I read that on the page, I was so excited. I was like, ‘Come on, don’t be dead, don’t be dead’,” he said in an interview with Digital Spy. “I think he was being controlled by Miss Thornhill, and then he had to go manipulate Wednesday to carry out their plan. And I think he did a pretty good job with it.”
Here’s hoping season two elaborates on the theory.

Wednesday Season 2 Release Date
Season two of Wednesday will be dropping in two parts, with the first episodes being released on Netflix in August 6 and the second on September 4.
