The time has finally come for us to head back to Nevermore Academy for the second season of Wednesday, with the new season dropping onto Netflix on August 6. It’s been almost three years since the show debuted in October 2022 and quickly became Netflix’s most-watched English-language series of all time, which is a title it still holds. And with Lady Gaga joining the cast (and reportedly releasing new music for the occasion), needless to say, we’re excited to see what unfolds in season two.

The trailer for the new season confirms that the delightfully sinister vibe of season one is alive and well this time around. It starts with Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams dropping Wednesday back at school, commenting that it’s the first time Wednesday has ever “willingly” returned to a school for a second time. “I already know where the bodies are buried,” Wednesday affirms, saying that it’s like returning to the scene of the crime.
Quickly, Wednesday becomes alarmed that her classmates love and respect her after the drama of the first season. But quickly, she learns that one of her classmates has been marked for death and she must find a way to save her, “or die trying”. Cue twisted scenes in graveyards, and over the top carnival scenes in the dark of night.
Over the past week, Jenna Ortega has been building the excitement with endless pitch perfect red carpet looks that channel the eerie vibe of her character, Wednesday Addams, though with a distinctly high fashion edge. Bleached brows, a chocolate corseted Vivienne Westwood gown from the autumn 2025 ready-to-wear-collection, and waved hair that looks like it’s dripping down her back have has us locked in on all things Wednesday and Jenna Ortega, that’s for sure.
What Time Is Wednesday Season 2 Released In Australia?
The second season of Wednesday will be released in two parts, almost one month apart. Part one, which includes the first four episodes, is released on August 6 at 5pm AEST (3pm in Perth) and fans will have to wait almost one month before finding out how the season ends. Wednesday season two: part two includes the final four episodes and will be released on September 3.
