Another Summer is upon us, and so is season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Back in August 2023, Prime Video confirmed the hit series, which is based on the trilogy of novels by Jenny Han, would be renewed for a third instalment. Much to the delight of twenty-something teenage girls everywhere. Now, after what feels like an eternity of waiting, we finally have our first trailer for the upcoming season. Before now, we only had a small teaser that Han shared to her Instagram, which showed stars Lola Tung, Chris Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufmen and Rain Spencer reunited for a friendly game of beach volleyball. At the end of the short clip, Tung turns to the camera and announces they’ll be back on our screens in Summer 2025.
If, like us, you’re itching to go back to Cousins Beach for what promises to be another spectacular summer, we’ve got you covered.
Below, everything we know about season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
What Is The Plot Of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season Three?
If the first two seasons are anything to go by, season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty will hinge on the ever-changing love triangle between Belly (Lola Tung), Conrad (Chris Briney), and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).

So far, seasons one and two have stayed true to the first two novels of Han’s trilogy, The Summer I Turned Pretty and It’s Not Summer Without You.
It seems likely then that the third season will find its plot in the third book, We’ll Always Have Summer, particularly because it’s the catchphrase used on the promotional poster for the 11-episode season. And if you haven’t already devoured Han’s work, the official synopsis for the third instalment is as follows:
“Belly has only ever been in love with two boys, both with the last name Fisher. And after being with Jeremiah for the last two years, she’s almost positive he is her soulmate. Almost. While Conrad has not gotten over the mistake of letting Belly go, Jeremiah has always known that Belly is the girl for him. So when Belly and Jeremiah decide to make things forever, Conrad realises that it’s now or never—tell Belly he loves her, or lose her for good. Belly will have to confront her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad and face the inevitable: She will have to break one of their hearts.”

In the trailer for season three, there is an obvious time jump in the storyline, with Belly and Jeremiah still appearing to be loved up and Conrad pursuing his dreams of becoming a doctor. The trailer is left on a bit of a cliffhanger, with Conrad showing up at Belly’s doorstep. Though we don’t know why he’s arrived, we’ll happily use our imaginations until the season comes out.
Who Has Been Cast In Season 3 Of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’?
It would be hard to continue telling Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah’s stories without the actors that first brought them to life. So in good news, the original cast are all set to return for season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty, including Lola Tung, Chris Briney, and Gavin Casalegno.

Other fan favourites are also set to return, including Sean Kaufman, who plays Belly’s older brother Steven; Rain Spencer, who plays Belly’s best friend (and Steven’s love interest) Taylor; and Jackie Chung, who plays Belly and Steven’s mother, Laurel.
When Will ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 Air?
Season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 16 on Prime Video.
The release has been long-awaited, as it was delayed by the SAG-AFTRA strikes, which began on July 14 2024. As part of the walkout, actors were unable to work on or promote any ongoing or upcoming projects.
Jenny Han acknowledged the delay via Instagram when she confirmed the third season, writing, “It’s been hard not being able to work on the show because of the ongoing strokes, but we can’t wait to get going on Season 3 as soon as we’re able.”

In hopeful news, the strike is now over, and filming for season three of The Summer I Turned Pretty is officially underway, with a confirmed release date of Summer 2025. For Australian fans, this will likely correspond with our winter, so expect to see the third season hit screens some time between June and August.
