Back in August 2024 Bridgerton fans were clutching their pearls after reigning queen Nicola Coughlan was spotted with a new boyfriend, actor and producer Jake Dunn. While the two were spotted taking in he sights and sounds at All Points East Festival in London with their arms wrapped around each other they were, at the time yet to hard-launch their relationship. Now they’ve officially made their red carpet debut attending the BAFTA TV Craft Awards nominee’s party. Coughlan opted for her signature feminine look wearing a chic button-up LBD with a taffeta train while Dunn wore a loose black suit over a chocolate brown sweater with cream Adidas Sambas. When Did Nicola Coughlan And Jake Dunn Start Dating?
In August 2024 Coughlan and Dunn attended All Points East Festival together. Coughlan was flying the boho-revival flag with her summery outfit. She styled her For Love and Lemons, Jackson White Dress with Chloé Susanna Ankle Boots and a Miu Miu Matelassé Leather Mini Bag while her beau wore a loose shirt and black pants.
It wasn’t technically the first time the pair had appeared together. They’d been spotted in an Instagram story shared by one of Jake’s Renegade Nell co-stars in March 2024.
Eagle-eyed celebrity gossip rag Deux Moi shared tip, and snap, of Coughlan and Dunn enjoying a game of Scrabble in a pub back on July 20. Frankly? We loved it for them.
Supporting Each Other On Instagram
While they were slow to make a red carpet appearance Nicola Coughlan and Jake Dunn have been busily supporting each other on social media. Last September Dunn shared a tongue in cheek tribute to Coughlan on Instagram posting a friend wearing a hat with “Nicola Coughlan” printed on it and a T-shirt that added “and her perfect breasts.” The outfit was, of course, a nod to her now viral response to an interviewer’s praise for her being “very brave” for stripping down in Bridgerton. “It’s hard, because I think women with my body type—women with perfect breasts—we don’t get to see ourselves on screen enough,” Coughlan quipped at the time.
In February Coughlan shared a photo of Dunn to Instagram stories in celebration of his birthday and Dunn has joined Coughlan in raising money for the trans community online.

Who Is Nicola Coughlan’s Boyfriend, Jake Dunn?
Jake Dunn and Coughlan have more in common than a shared love of Scrabble. Both are riding the period drama wave with Dunn staring in Disney’s Renegade Nell; a British 18th-century-based historical fantasy action-adventure television series.
Dunn is a recent graduate from Guildhall School’s drama department and has made rapid gains in his career. He’s starred in TV shows like Netflix’s Get Even and The Bastard Son & the Devil Himself, along with BBC’s Rebel Cheer Squad: A Get Even Series and the sitcom Big Boys.
Nicola Coughlan and Jake Dunn have overlapping circles. In Renegade Nell, Dunn stars alongside Nicola’s Derry Girls alum Louisa Harland. He also acted alongside Harland in two episodes of Big Boys – along with Dylan Llewellyn, who also starred in the Irish comedy.
While we don’t know much about him, we can tell he’s a hardworking boy. He told the Lancashire Telegraph in 2022 that he’d worked with a dialect coach for his turn as Billy Casper in a production of Kes to develop the perfect Yorkshire accent. “We had a great dialect coach, and every day I have repeatedly said the months of the year in a Yorkshire accent… Being from Nottingham, I do say ‘bath’ not ‘barth’ anyway, so that’s halfway there!”
