It’s official! The 2020 U.S. Presidential Election has come and gone and the results have (unsurprisingly) sent shock waves around the world.
As of November 7, after winning the state of Pennsylvania, Joe Biden will become the 46th President of the United States with Kamala Harris—the daughter of Jamaican and Indian parents—as their first ever female and Indian-American Vice President.
The nail-biting election—which not only affects the U.S. but the entire world—saw Biden surpass the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the Presidency.
With a record-breaking voter turnout, an estimated 158 million Americans casted their votes early, which was 69 percent more than the total vote in the 2016 election. Additionally, Biden also secured the most votes for a Presidential candidate in U.S. history.
And of course, celebrities and famous faces alike had a lot to celebrate and to say about Biden and Harris’ victory.
