Jacob Elordi and Olivia Jade Giannulli have officially called it quits after four years of dating. The news was exclusively confirmed by PEOPLE on August 8, following months of speculation about their relationship status.
Jacob and Olivia Jade have reportedly been an item since 2021.
They started seeing each other soon after Elordi’s break up with model and actress Kaia Gerber. Giannulli had also recently split from American singer-songwriter Jackson Guthy.
The romance lasted nine months, and the pair went on a break in August 2022. However, they were spotted together again the following month, with the relationship clearly back on.
In June 2023, a source told the publication that the couple were doing well.
“They’ve been getting close again the past month or two and have travelled together quite a bit,” the source said. “This month they’ve been to New York and decided to go to Italy to get away from it all.”
Despite the time they’ve spent together, neither Elordi nor Giannulli have ever commented publicly about their relationship, though people have always looked to their Instagram accounts for hints to whether they’re still together. For example, 7News reported that Giannulli had unfollowed Elordi on Instagram amid past breakups, though Elordi has since deactivated his account altogether.
In January 2024, the rumour mill went into overdrive again, reporting that Saltburn star Jacob Elordi and YouTuber Olivia Jade Giannulli were no longer an item. Despite Us Weekly “confirming” the news, no sources were cited and neither Jacob nor Olivia Jade had commented. Meanwhile, PEOPLE reported that “multiple insiders” said the pair were still very much together.
Despite this, fans were convinced of a split after Olivia Jade no longer followed Elordi on Instagram. (Jacob, meanwhile, doesn’t follow anyone.) However, despite the rumours, Olivia Jade attended the Saturday Night Live afterparty over the weekend, where her (possible) boyfriend, Jacob Elordi was host.
Giannulli joined the after party at L’Avenue in New York City, styled in the ‘mob wife aesthetic’, which was trending at the time.
It’s been a big couple of years for Elordi, with the actor starring in Saltburn in late 2023, and his momentum hasn’t slowed since. This year alone, he’s had many productions on the cards including Frankenstein, Euphoria season three and The Narrow Road To The Deep North, and Wuthering Heights, which is an Emerald Fennell-directed adaption that he stars in opposite Margot Robbie. So, it’s safe to say that he has plenty to keep himself busy.
Elordi previously dated Kaia Gerber and his Kissing Booth co-star Joey King.
While Gerber and Elordi only dated for a year, the relationship was quite serious. She opened up about it in a 2021 Vogue cover story.
“Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don’t want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions,” Gerber said at the time. “Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone.”
The pair were also spotted attending Cara Delevingne’s birthday party this week, so there’s nothing to suggest they’re back together, and she is reportedly in a relationship with actor Lewis Pullman.
