There’s nothing like a fresh fling after a bad breakup, and Tammy Hembrow seems to have moved on from her split with Matt Zukowski at warp speed. While the exes announced their separation just months ago, it’s rumoured Hembrow is dating AFL player Bailey Smith. Only days after the news dropped, Hembrow teased fans (and possibly her ex) with the flash of an enormous diamond ring on Instagram.
Sure, it was on the wrong finger, but that’s hardly the point – it’s given the media (admittedly, us) another excuse to talk about her and Smith, right after Zukowski expressed his displeasure that she’d moved on so quickly. And it’s left us wondering: where did the diamond come from?

The question of what to do with your engagement ring after your marriage ends is a classic. Do you hand it back? Hawk it on Depop? One increasingly popular option is having the stone reset, assuming you’re not too haunted by memories of your ex to tolerate the sparkle. Hembrow may well have taken this approach with any one of her three past engagement rings – or she might simply have treated herself to a post-breakup splurge. (She was, after all, sharing the photo from her Bentley.)
Wherever the ring came from, if she was hoping to rub Zukowski’s face in her new romance, it was brutally effective.
Daily Mail pounced in record time, running with the headline: “Tammy Hembrow Sets Tongues Wagging As She Flaunts Massive Diamond Ring On Her Left Hand While Wearing Her New AFL Beau Bailey Smith’s Jacket.”
So was it really her rumoured new boyfriend’s grey jacket? Or a carefully calculated dagger aimed at her ex-husband’s heart?

We can’t say for sure, but the jacket-and-diamond combo is bound to be a potent cocktail for Zukowski, who’s clearly not taking the news with good grace.
“I heard about this and it’s not a nice feeling,” Zukowski told the Herald Sun when asked about Hembrow’s potential new boyfriend. “We only broke up eight weeks ago. I just don’t understand how someone can move on so quickly. It’s been 48 days and I’m still trying to work out how I feel as a person after committing in marriage to someone. I’m trying to focus on myself and heal.”
The Love Island star also took to his podcast, heavily hinting that he was the one to end the marriage (most assumed it was the other way around thanks to constant cheating rumours). “A couple of months ago, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life. I decided to leave a relationship that I found was not right for me,” he told his Where’s Your Head At? co-host Anna McEvoy on Thursday. “It was unhealthy for me.”
Zukowski is, of course, entitled to his feelings, we, meanwhile, will continue to ponder the origin of Tammy’s ring.
