Having been really focused on the need to have another baby, I’m just like, if it happens, it happens.”

People have a lot to say, and it’s incredibly gendered and unbelievably misogynistic. If your body is capable of it, have the baby… I’m a better mother now. It’s a more grounded experience.”
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare reported this month that in 2023, one-third of mothers were aged between 30 and 34, with the average maternal age rising steadily since 1998. Planned egg freezing increased by 28% in 2023 alone, with the number of Australian women freezing their eggs doubling between 2020 and 2022. In the United States, the number of women incorporating egg freezing into their family-planning strategies quadrupled between 2014 and 2021. While these figures suggest more women are using technology to align fertility with their career goals and the pursuit of a suitable partner (no mean feat), Miller’s comments reveal that there’s still stigma around later-in-life motherhood and shyness around topics like IVF. Sienna Miller, however, continues to make a stylish case for it.
