While Pamela Anderson’s marriage to Mötley Crüe Tommy Lee got the TV treatment with Pam & Tommy, Anderson decided to reclaim the narrative and “tell the real story” with a stirring documentary that recounts her life, from a teenager in Canada to a Hollywood icon.
Announced via social media, Anderson returned to Instagram after quitting the platform for good to share the news of the upcoming documentary.
The minimalist post features a handwritten poem on Netflix letterhead. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without her signature lipstick kiss mark.
The poem reads: “My life/ A thousand imperfections/ A million misperceptions/ Wicked, wild and lost/ Nothing to live up to/ I can only surprise you/ Not a victim, but a survivor/ And alive to tell the real story.”

According to the production logline that Variety released, the project is set to be “an intimate portrait embedded in the life of Pamela Anderson as she looks back at her professional and personal path and prepares for the next steps on her journey.”
Variety reported that project will include “exclusive access to Anderson, as well as archival footage and her personal journals.”
Veteran documentary film maker, Ryan White, who you’ll most likely recognise from his critically acclaimed docu-series The Keepers served as director and producer while Anderson, her mother and her sons share their stories with the crew. It’s a scorchingly personal and vulnerable film from a woman who has lived life unapologetically her way.

Anderson’s eldest son, Brandon Thomas Lee, is also involved in the project and acting as producer.
For those who felt discomfort that Anderson wasn’t involved in the making of Pam & Tommy, Love, Pamela is the perfect solution (and yes, the documentary spends ample time on their rollercoaster rock n’ roll love story). We advise you get the popcorn and the tissues ready.
