When it comes to strong female friendships in pop culture, people automatically think of the Sex and the City women. But another silver screen foursome that actually translated into real life is The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, starring Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn and America Ferrera.

The actresses were in their early twenties when they made the 2005 film (Blake was in her late teens) and a little older when they filmed the 2008 sequel, but whatever happened during those movie-making experiences created a bond between the four stars that is the real deal.
