French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz is stepping onto the courts of Wimbledon this week, hoping to clinch his victory in the third Grand Slam. The 6 ft Spaniard claimed an 11th-hour victory against opponent Jannik Sinner, securing his fifth major title. And, as we’ve been watching him back on the courts in fine form, we’ve been left wondering, once again, is Carlos Alcaraz single?

Who Is Carlos Alcaraz?
Carlos Alcaraz is 21 but already ranked third in the world. He’s a four-time Grand Slam champion and made history when he won the US Open in 2022, becoming the youngest man to become world No.1. Alcaraz caused another upset in 2023 when he beat Novak Djokovic in the final at Wimbledon.

“It’s complicated, never staying in one place,” he shared, “It’s hard to find the person who can share things with you if you’re always in different parts of the world.”

Who Has He Dated?
Tennis is famous for its power couples; we only have to turn our minds to Alex De Minaur and Katie Boulter’s recent engagement. So we were hardly surprised to hear that Carlos Alcaraz has a fellow tennis player on his list of recent ex-girlfriends.
Alcaraz was linked to Spanish star Maria Gonzalez Gimenez around 2022, and while their relationship was never publicly confirmed, Alcaraz alluded to a breakup in the Vogue interview. and shared that he had started therapy. A site called Tennis Tonic also shared a screenshot of an Instagram story post Alcaraz made during their linked period, in which the pair seemed to be cosying up.
Daily Mail reported that Carlos and Maria had more than just tennis in common – they grew up in the same Spanish village, El Palmar, Murcia, and had known each other since childhood.
Who Is Maria Gonzalez Gimenez?
Maria Gonzalez Gimenez is quite the ex-girlfriend. She plays tennis but isn’t a pro. That’s probably because she’s been busy studying law at the University of Murcia, where she recently completed a bilingual degree. She plays for Murcia Club de Tenis, a tennis club in Spain.
Gimenez is very private and has a sparse Instagram presence. Her most recent posts include a review of a hair treatment (it looks good) and another celebrating the completion of her law degree. “Four years of putting up with these people, it was worth it in the end (I AM A LAWYER),” she jokingly captioned the celebratory grid pic.

Dating rumours have swirled around Carlos and tennis player Emma Raducanu, 22. The stunning brunette who has a contract with Dior Beauty was seen cheering Alcaraz on at the Queen’s club this month. “Emma and Carlos’ friendship was the talk of Queens – people think there’s something going on with them because they have such a spark,” a source told The Sun. Another said “they seem to be very happy and relaxed with each other.” The pair will be teaming up for the mixed doubles at the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship in August and while the pair have so far denied rumours saying they’re just friends fans are speculating we could have a tennis romance on our hands.
