If you’ve spent any time on PerfumeTok recently, you’ll have come across Phlur fragrances – the minimalist packaging, colourful stained-glass bottles and catchy names are basically optimised for the platform. But until now, Australian perfume lovers have had no way to access the brand. Thankfully, Mecca never leaves us hanging for long and the brand has officially launched.
Few beauty brands truly live up to their “cult” status, but Phlur – relaunched in 2022 under the stewardship of influencer and Creative Director Chriselle Lim – has skyrocketed to cult status in just three years.

The brand is known for its evocative storytelling. Each fragrance is crafted by the noses behind world-famous scents like Le Labo Santal 33, Byredo Gypsy Water and Glossier You, and is designed to evoke intimate memories and moods. Some Phlur launches have generated waitlists reaching the hundreds of thousands. When Strawberry Letter launched, the waitlist reached 50,000 customers, and the brand’s most iconic fragrance, Missing Person, reached a waitlist of 200,000 before it dropped in 2022.
The collection spans perfumes and body mists (a rapidly growing category), ranging from decadent pulpy florals like Apricot Privée to skin-like scents like the evocatively named Missing Person. The brand – and thousands of influencers on the Clock app – suggest layering scents and mists for a bespoke finish. One combination in particular – Heavy Cream Body Mist and Vanilla Skin Body Mist – is selling out everywhere.
Currently, you can shop some Phlur fragrances and toiletries at Revolve, FWRD, Space NK and Niche Beauty, but you’ll need to wait until the end of August before you can browse them in store and shop them locally.
In the interim, here’s everything you need to know about Phlur fragrances before you shop them in Australia.
Given that the brand is yet to launch, we’ll have to take industry insiders’ words for it. If you’re after fine fragrances, the brand has a discovery set. But some of our favourite influencers are especially excited about the brand’s body mists – a category that’s seen limited offerings in Australia until now. Influencer Elizabeth Cee advises picking up Heavy Cream Body Mist first – a gourmand with notes of whipped cream, jasmine blossom and vanilla mousse. “That is going to sell out and you’ll never be able to get it again, it’s sold out everywhere in the States,” she shares.
Hannah English, meanwhile, recommends Vanilla Smoke, Beach Skin and Amber Haze as top picks.
Here are some fan favourites worth checking out.

The permanently sold-out body mist, Heavy Cream, is a delicious gourmand you can sink your teeth into with top notes of marshmallow, sugar, lemon and orange and middle notes of coconut, Ambrettolide and jasmine, and base notes of whipped cream, vanilla and caramel. It’s a fluffy, sweet scent that’s perfect for layering.

The perfect companion to Heavy Cream, Vanilla Skin is decadent and complex. Described as “multidimensional”, this mist features unexpected notes of red apple and pink pepper, creamy hits of cashmere, jasmine and lily and a woody, smoky dry down of sandalwood, benzoin and rich agarwood.

Crafted to be worn solo or layered with other scents for a truly personalised fragrance experience, this mist opens with bright top notes of tiare blossoms, salty sea air, and zesty bergamot. At its heart lies a creamy touch of coconut milk, evoking the warmth and nostalgia of a perfect day at the beach.

A non-traditional rose with black currant and honeyed osmanthus notes over a leather, sexy base of deep amber and cashmere and a hint of pink pepper and nutmeg. A warming, fruity floral that brings a different approach to the traditional rose perfume.

If you have a sweet tooth and miss the happy sticky scents of the early 2000s, you’ll love Mood Ring, which is as juicy as a Jolly Rancher. Top notes include Pitahaya and orange, and combined fruits (TikTokers note kiwi fruit, lemon and apple vibes) while Jasmine Sambac, Orange Blossom and Marigold make up the middle. The dry down is dense musk, patchouli and amber.

For lovers of Glossier, Phlur Missing Person is a unisex fragrance designed to evoke the strangely familiar scent of a lover’s skin. Floral notes of jasmine and neroli blossom draw you in, while enveloping musk holds you close. An intimate, subtle scent has become one of the brand’s best sellers and is already sold out at Mecca, where you can waitlist yourself. While you wait, we recommend trying the heavenly body oil, which features rosehip, paramela and jojoba oils, lipids and vitamin C oil, along with the scent thousands of Phlur fans have fallen in love with.
